Straight accounting

Arrels seeks to be a responsible, efficient and opened entity with the economic incomes it receives. Most of these incomes arrive thanks to all the unpaid donations from partners and donors who are part of a wide and secure social base that allows us to act without any constraints.

The total income in 2020 amounted to 5,006,356.94 euros.

  • Private funding: 58%

* We ended 2020 with a surplus due to an unforeseen grant we received at the end of the year. This money will be invested in continuing to support people.

 

Where does our income come from?

In 2020, the income has come from partners’ payments (regular donations) and from occasional donors (one-off donations) who have supported Arrels’ labour (35%). They also come from local and autonomous administrations (42%), from some companies (7%) and from some collaborating foundations (2%).

 

How have we separated our expenses?

The total of expenses for the year has amounted to 4,514,937.13 euros. 76% has been invested in directly attending to homeless people, especially in covering housing and social support needs (53%), in services of first reception (18%), and in our occupational workshop (5%). 3% has been invested in projects and equipment to face the impact of Covid-19.

The remaining budget has been used to organise awareness-raising and political advocacy campaigns (9%) and to guarantee the maintenance of the entity’s structure and the coordination of the voluntary team (12%).
